Science-backed scalp & hair wellness for textured hair
Build Your Routine.
Outside in. Inside out.
Consistently.
A single product applied occasionally will not transform your hair. A complete system applied consistently will. This page maps every AfrohairCandy product to its place in your routine — daily, weekly, monthly and inside out — so you know exactly what to use, when and why.

"Hair health is not a moment. It is a system. The women in Chad who grew waist-length hair did not achieve it by using one product occasionally. They applied Chebe to every section of their hair consistently, as part of a daily ritual, for years. Consistency is the ingredient most people leave out."
Carine Mbembi Whyte · Founder, AfrohairCandy
The AfrohairCandy System — Two directions. One goal.
OUTSIDE IN — TOPICAL
Products applied directly to the scalp and hair. Address the follicle environment, moisture balance, scalp inflammation, hair shaft strength and protective care. Results visible within weeks of consistent use.
INSIDE OUT — INTERNAL
Capsules that support the internal hormonal and nutritional conditions that topical products cannot reach. Address hormonal hair loss, postpartum shedding, stress-related thinning and scalp health from within.
Choose your routine frequency
Your Daily Routine — The Foundation
Applied every morning. Takes 5 to 10 minutes. The LOC method — Liquid, Oil, Cream — delivers, seals and locks in moisture in the correct biological sequence for textured hair.
L
Liquid — Moisture Growth Spray
→ Moisture Growth Spray · £30 · afrohaircandy.co.uk/products/moisture-growth-spray
Spritz onto hair and scalp from root to tip. The L in your LOC routine. Water-based and infused with Chebe from Chad — opens the hair fibre and delivers real hydration directly where it needs to go. Shake well first. If it solidifies run under a warm tap.
Why it goes first: Water-based moisture must be applied to the hair before any oil. Oil applied first seals the hair shaft — preventing moisture from entering. Liquid always opens. Oil always seals.
O
Oil — Hair Moisturiser & Leave-In Conditioner
→ Hair Moisturiser & Leave-In · £30 · afrohaircandy.co.uk/products/leave-in
Apply to sectioned hair from root to tip after the Moisture Spray. The O in your LOC routine. Rich in Chebe, Shea Butter, Coconut Milk and a blend of plant oils — builds on the moisture delivered by the spray and strengthens each strand.
Why it goes second: The oil step seals in the moisture delivered by the Liquid step while adding nourishment and weight to the hair. Applied before the cream it acts as an intermediary layer between water and butter.
C
Cream — Chebe Butter
→ Chebe Butter · £45 · afrohaircandy.co.uk/products/chebe-butter
Apply last to seal everything in. A small amount rubbed into sectioned hair from root to tip — paying particular attention to the ends. The C in your LOC routine. Sacred Chebe powder from Chad seals moisture inside the hair shaft and prevents breakage.
Why it goes last: The cream step is the seal. It locks in everything the Liquid and Oil steps have delivered. Nothing escapes. Moisture stays where it needs to stay throughout the day.
4
Style — Natural Hair Gel & Edge Control (when needed)
→ Hair Gel & Edge Control · £30 · afrohaircandy.co.uk/products/hair-gel
Apply to edges and styled sections after the LOC routine. Made with wild Congo honey, flaxseeds and Beetroot — no alcohol, no synthetic hold agents. Provides hold without damaging already-stressed follicles at the hairline.
Why no alcohol matters: Most edge controls contain alcohol that desiccates the follicles at your hairline — the area most vulnerable to traction alopecia. Ours does not.
For high porosity hair: Before the LOC routine apply the Porosity Balance Mist to dry hair. This corrects the porosity environment so the moisture you apply actually stays rather than escaping within the hour. High porosity hair absorbs moisture quickly and loses it just as fast — the Porosity Balance Mist addresses the mechanism not the symptom.

→ Porosity Balance Mist · £75 · afrohaircandy.co.uk/products/porosity-balance-mist
For protective style wearers: Apply the Protect & Restore Scalp Serum to the scalp before putting your hair into any protective style. The tension of braids, weaves and extensions causes inflammation at the follicle level that accumulates over time into traction alopecia. The serum applied to the scalp underneath protective styles addresses that inflammation daily.

→ Protect & Restore Scalp Serum · £190 · afrohaircandy.co.uk/products/protect-restore-scalp-serum
Your Weekly Routine — Cleanse, Restore, Treat
Once per week — on wash day. Cleanses the scalp, restores what the week has depleted and treats the hair with weekly deep conditioning. Takes 60 to 90 minutes.
1
Pre-Cleanse — Purity Scalp Exfoliant (monthly or when needed)
→ Purity Scalp Exfoliant · £190 · afrohaircandy.co.uk/products/purity-scalp-exfoliant
Applied to the scalp before cleansing to dissolve excess sebum build-up, product residue and blocked follicle openings. Seasonal batches of wild-harvested Kola Nut from our Congo farm. Use monthly or when scalp feels heavy and congested.
Why exfoliation matters: Product residue and excess sebum accumulate on the scalp surface and inside follicle openings over weeks of product use. This build-up reduces the effectiveness of every product you apply afterwards. A clear scalp absorbs everything more efficiently.
2
Cleanse — Co-Wash
→ Co-Wash · £30 · afrohaircandy.co.uk/products/co-wash
Apply to wet hair and scalp. Massage into the scalp for 2 to 3 minutes. Rinse thoroughly. Use weekly as your primary cleanser. Unlike shampoo — co-washing removes build-up and impurities without stripping the scalp's natural oils. Does not lather because it contains no sulphates.
Why no shampoo: Sulphate-based shampoos strip the scalp of the natural sebum that protects the follicle environment. A stripped scalp overproduces sebum to compensate — creating an oiliness cycle that the co-wash breaks by cleansing gently without stripping.
3
Deep Condition — Deep Conditioning Treatment
→ Deep Conditioning Treatment · £58 · afrohaircandy.co.uk/products/deep-conditioning
Apply generously to towel-dried sectioned hair from root to tip. Cover with a plastic cap and leave for 60 minutes — or 30 minutes with a steamer. Rinse thoroughly. Do not use shampoo after. This is your weekly restoration — replenishing everything the week of styling and environmental exposure has depleted.
Why 60 minutes matters: The ingredients in the Deep Conditioning Treatment require time to penetrate the hair shaft. A quick 5-minute condition sits on the cuticle surface. A 60-minute treatment under heat penetrates to the cortex where structural repair actually happens.
4
Weekly Treatment — Chebe Nilotica Length & Moisture Therapy (weekly)
→ Chebe Nilotica Treatment · £195 · afrohaircandy.co.uk/products/chebe-nilotica
Use weekly or fortnightly in place of or alongside the Deep Conditioning Treatment for maximum length retention. Chebe from Chad combined with Nilotica Shea Oil from Uganda — the rarest and most penetrating shea on earth. The deepest possible length retention treatment in our range.
For whom: Customers specifically focused on length retention — reversing years of breakage, growing hair from a damaged state, or maintaining extraordinary length already achieved. This is the treatment equivalent of what Chadian women applied daily for generations.
5
Follow with your LOC routine
Moisture Growth Spray → Leave-In Conditioner → Chebe Butter
After rinsing the Deep Conditioning Treatment — apply the full daily LOC routine to damp hair. This completes the wash day sequence. Moisture. Oil. Cream. In the correct order. On freshly cleansed and deeply conditioned hair it absorbs more effectively than on any other day of the week.
Wash day is your most important LOC day. A freshly cleansed scalp with open follicles and clean hair shafts absorbs the moisture from your LOC routine at maximum efficiency. Do not skip the routine on wash day.
Your Monthly Routine — Deep Restoration & Scalp Reset
Once per month. The deeper treatments that address the cumulative effect of styling, environmental stress and product use over four weeks. Takes 90 to 120 minutes.
1
Honey Clay Mask — monthly scalp deep cleanse
Apply the Honey Clay Mask to the scalp on dry hair. Leave for 20 to 30 minutes. Rinse thoroughly. Wild Congo Honey and Mabele Clay from our own Congo land — draws out impurities, excess sebum, product residue and environmental pollutants that weekly co-washing does not reach. Use once monthly as a scalp reset.
→ Honey Clay Mask · £140 · afrohaircandy.co.uk/products/honey-clay-mask
2
Purity Scalp Exfoliant — follicle clearing
Apply after the Honey Clay Mask rinse — to damp scalp. Massage gently in circular motions for 3 to 5 minutes. Rinse. Wild-harvested Kola Nut from our Congo farm dissolves the sebum build-up and product residue that accumulates inside follicle openings over the month. Creates the clearest possible follicle environment before your treatments.
→ Purity Scalp Exfoliant · £190 · afrohaircandy.co.uk/products/purity-scalp-exfoliant
3
Chebe Nilotica Length & Moisture Therapy — deep monthly treatment
Apply generously to towel-dried hair after cleansing. Leave for 60 to 90 minutes under a plastic cap. Rinse. The deepest length retention treatment in the range — Chebe from Chad and Nilotica Shea from Uganda working together on thoroughly cleansed hair with open follicles and receptive shafts.
→ Chebe Nilotica Treatment · £195 · afrohaircandy.co.uk/products/chebe-nilotica
4
Scalp Serum — apply to clean scalp after rinsing
After rinsing the monthly treatment — apply 2 to 3 drops of your scalp serum directly to the scalp. Massage gently in circular motions. Do not rinse. A monthly deep cleanse followed by scalp serum application is the most effective way to deliver serum ingredients directly to the follicle. The scalp is at its most receptive after exfoliation and cleansing.

For protective styles: → Protect & Restore Scalp Serum · £190 · afrohaircandy.co.uk/products/protect-restore
For growth: → Kola Nut Growth Elixir · £360 · afrohaircandy.co.uk/products/kola-nut-elixir
For hormonal thinning: → Follicle Renewal Elixir · £345 · afrohaircandy.co.uk/products/follicle-renewal
5
Complete with your LOC routine
Moisture Growth Spray → Leave-In Conditioner → Chebe Butter. Every monthly treatment session ends with the full LOC routine. Freshly cleansed, deeply treated and serum-nourished hair absorbs the daily routine at maximum efficiency. This is the most productive LOC application of the entire month.
→ Moisture Growth Spray · Leave-In · Chebe Butter
Inside Out — The Internal Wellness System
Topical products treat the scalp surface and hair shaft. These capsules support the internal hormonal and nutritional conditions that determine whether your hair grows, sheds or stalls. For best results use alongside the topical range.
Who needs the Inside Out system: If you have been using topical hair care consistently for three or more months without the results you expected — the issue may be internal rather than topical. Hormonal imbalance, nutritional deficiency, chronic stress and postpartum changes all affect the hair growth cycle through mechanisms that no amount of topical product can address from the outside. This is where the capsules come in.
Postpartum shedding
After delivery oestrogen drops rapidly — pushing large numbers of follicles simultaneously into the resting phase. Three to four months later those follicles shed simultaneously. This is normal but can be significantly reduced by supporting the return to hormonal balance.
Stress-related hair loss
Chronic stress elevates cortisol — which directly disrupts the hair growth cycle by pushing follicles prematurely into the resting phase. Hair loss from stress often presents months after the stressful period — making the connection difficult to identify.
Menopausal and hormonal thinning
As oestrogen and progesterone decline during perimenopause and menopause the hair growth cycle shortens and follicles become more sensitive to DHT. Hair becomes finer, sparser and slower to grow. Topical products address the scalp environment — capsules address the hormonal cause.
Internal scalp and skin clarity
Chronic inflammation, gut imbalance and internal toxin accumulation can manifest as scalp conditions — dandruff, seborrhoeic dermatitis, folliculitis. Internal cleansing supports the scalp environment from within.
Complete Inside Out routine — take daily:

Morning with food: Fenugreek Capsules · Tribulus Capsules (for hormonal concerns)
Morning or evening: Eschscholzia Capsules (for stress-related concerns)
Any time: Neem Leaf Capsules · Centella Capsules

Allow 6 to 8 weeks of consistent daily use before assessing results. Internal hormonal and nutritional changes take longer to manifest at the follicle level than topical changes. Consistency is the ingredient most people leave out.

Navigation placement: Under the Shop dropdown as "Build Your Routine" — the final item. This page is accessed by customers who have decided to buy and want to know which products to buy together. It should be easy to find from the Shop menu rather than buried under About or Sourcing.
Frequency tabs: The Daily, Weekly, Monthly and Inside Out tabs on this page make it easy for a customer to find exactly the routine relevant to her without reading everything. On mobile these should display as full-width pill buttons stacked cleanly. The active tab should display in brand green to indicate which routine is currently showing.
Product links: Every product mentioned on this page must have a direct link to its Shopify product page. This page is a conversion tool — a customer who reads the weekly routine and sees the Deep Conditioning Treatment explained in context of her wash day is ready to buy it. Remove the friction between understanding and purchasing by linking every product name directly.
The concern grid: The six concern cards at the bottom of the page — Hair Loss, Length Retention, Damaged Hair, Hormonal Thinning, Heat Styling, Maintenance — are your most important conversion tool on the page. A customer who identifies her concern in one of these cards sees a personalised product recommendation immediately. Each card should link to the relevant collection page.
The book section: Place the book section just before the closing credentials — not at the top of the page. A customer who has read through her complete routine and understands what every product does is far more receptive to buying the book than a customer who has just arrived. The book is the deepest possible product in the AfrohairCandy range — it belongs at the deepest point of the page journey.
The closing line: "Not sure where to start? Contact us directly. Carine reads every message personally and will tell you exactly where she would begin based on your specific concern." — This line converts hesitant high-value buyers who have read everything and still feel uncertain. At £190 to £360 price points a personal recommendation from the founder is the most powerful possible conversion tool. Make this line prominent and make the contact link go directly to a message form or email.
