Democratic Republic of Congo
Central Africa
Palm Oil · Hibiscus · Eucalyptus · Mangosteen · Lime · Oranges · Lemongrass · Bulukutu · Loofah · African Ginger · Aloe Vera · Cucumber · Lemon · Cassava · Soursop · Guava · Avocado · Lychee · Watermelon · Congolese Clay · Wild Honey
Where Carine was born. Where AfrohairCandy begins.
Our own farm in the DRC — one of the most biodiverse ecosystems on earth. The range of what grows here is extraordinary. Bulukutu and Congolese Eucalyptus Root found nowhere else on the planet are the foundation of our most advanced scalp restoration formulas. Wild honey harvested from unfarmed bees foraging across the Congo rainforest — retaining the full complement of enzymes, amino acids and antioxidants that commercial honey loses during processing. Congolese Mabele clay from our own land. Soursop, Mangosteen, Lychee, Guava, Avocado, Watermelon — all grown on our farm and used across our hair care and skincare formulations.
When conflict disrupted supply here we waited nine months rather than substitute. This land is not just a source. It is where everything began.

OWN FARM · NORTHERN GHANA
02
Ghana
Northern Ghana
Shea Butter · Raw Shea Nuts · Coconut Oil · Palm Oil · Cocoa Butter · Black Soap
Our second owned farm — 100 hectares of Shea Nut trees in Tamale, Northern Ghana.
This is where a significant portion of our Shea Butter originates — from trees on our own land, harvested and pressed without refinement. The colour, the smell, the texture — everything intact. Our Ghanaian Cocoa Butter is cold-pressed from Cacao seeds — the same bean that makes chocolate — extraordinarily rich in fatty acids that nourish and restore the skin barrier. Our Black Soap is traditionally made in Ghana and appears in our body wash and soap formulations. Carine walks these fields personally.

03
Nigeria
West Africa
Shea Butter · Hibiscus · Palm Oil · Coconut Oil · Black Soap (Plantain skin) · Kola Nuts · Chebe Powder (secondary source)
One of our most diverse sourcing countries. Nigeria gives us Kola Nuts — the sacred Central and West African botanical at the heart of our Kola Nut Growth Elixir. In the north, Fulani and Hausa women produce Chebe using the same methods practised in Chad — because the Fulani people originated in Chad and carried the tradition with them across centuries of migration. The knowledge did not change when the people moved. It travelled with them. Chad remains our primary Chebe source.
04
Ivory Coast
West Africa · Côte d'Ivoire
Shea Butter
Côte d'Ivoire produces some of the richest Shea in West Africa. Our Ivory Coast sourcing adds depth and variety to the Shea profile across our range — different terroir, slightly different fatty acid composition, complementary to our other West African sources. Unrefined. Every beneficial property intact.
05
Burkina Faso
West Africa · Landlocked
Shea Butter · Neem Oil
Landlocked and little known outside Africa, Burkina Faso is one of the world's most significant Shea producing countries. Our Neem Oil from Burkina Faso is cold-pressed from Neem seeds harvested from trees growing wild across the Sahel region — potent, unrefined and extraordinary for scalp health and natural antimicrobial properties.
06
Gambia
West Africa · Smallest mainland country
Shea Butter · Coconut Oil · Henna · Herbs
The smallest country on mainland Africa — but one of our most consistent sources. Our Gambian Shea comes from women-led cooperatives pressing Shea using traditional methods for generations. Our Henna from Gambia is used in specific hair and scalp formulations for its conditioning properties. Every purchase directly supports the farming communities we work with.
07
Senegal
West Africa
Hibiscus Flowers (Yellow & Red) · Castor Oil · Baobab Fruit & Oil · Mangoes · Neem · Lime Zest · Herbs
We found our Senegalese Hibiscus supplier by walking through the markets of Dakar and asking the right questions. A woman selling produce sent down by her husband from their family farm in the north — Baobab, beans, maize, Yellow and Red Hibiscus. We bought in large bags that day, visited the farm and they became our suppliers. Castor Oil is native to Senegal — this is where we source ours, cold-pressed and entirely unrefined. Baobab Oil from Senegal is among the richest sources of Omega fatty acids available anywhere.
08
Mali
West Africa
Hibiscus Seed Oil · Shea Butter · Neem Oil · Papaya Seed Oil
Mali is one of our most diverse sourcing countries. The Hibiscus Seed Oil from Mali is cold-pressed from Hibiscus seeds — rich in essential fatty acids that complement the Hibiscus flower extract we source from Senegal. Together they give us the full botanical profile of this extraordinary plant. Both the seed and the flower. Nothing left unexplored.
09
Cameroon
Central Africa
Palm Oil
Sustainably sourced unrefined red Palm Oil from Cameroon — one of Central Africa's most established Palm producing regions. Retaining its full beta-carotene content and natural colour. Rich in Vitamin E and antioxidants. Nothing processed out. Nothing added.
Primary Chebe Source
10
Chad
Central Africa · Lake Chad basin
Chebe Powder — primary source
From the Lake Chad basin — the only place on earth where authentic Chebe originates. Used by the Basara Arab tribe for generations to maintain extraordinary hair length and density. The Fulani people — who later carried Chebe traditions to northern Nigeria — originated here. We source directly from Chad as our primary source to ensure the most authentic botanical profile of this irreplaceable ingredient. There is no substitute. There is no more original source.
Seasonal · Once Annually
11
Uganda
East Africa · Nile basin
Nilotica Shea Oil
The rarest shea on earth. The Nilotica shea nut tree grows only along the Nile basin in East Africa. Harvested once annually in June. Available only between July and September. Higher oleic acid content than any other shea variety — softer, richer, more penetrating. We source it personally from a specialist East African supplier. When the window closes — we wait.
12
Kenya
East Africa · Nile basin
Nilotica Shea Butter
Alongside Uganda, Kenya produces East African Nilotica Shea from the Nile basin region. Our Kenyan Nilotica Shea complements our Ugandan source — both sharing the extraordinarily high oleic acid content that makes East African shea so fundamentally different from West African shea. Together they give us the most complete Nilotica Shea profile available anywhere.
13
Morocco
North Africa · Atlas Mountains
Argan Oil · Rosemary · Lavender · Bergamot
Morocco is home to some of the world's most celebrated botanical ingredients. Our Argan Oil is cold-pressed from Argan nuts harvested from trees growing wild in the Souss Valley — one of the only places on earth where Argan trees grow naturally. Our Rosemary and Lavender come from the Atlas Mountain region where altitude and climate produce oils of extraordinary quality and potency.
14
Tunisia
North Africa · Mediterranean coast
Rosemary · Lavender · Thyme · Herbs
Tunisia's Mediterranean climate produces Rosemary, Lavender and Thyme with a distinctly different aromatic and chemical profile from Moroccan varieties. We blend both countries to capture the full botanical range of these ingredients across their natural growing regions. Thyme in particular — used in our formulations for its natural antimicrobial and stimulating properties — is sourced primarily from Tunisia.
15
Madagascar
Indian Ocean · Volcanic island
Cloves · Vanilla
Madagascar produces some of the world's finest Vanilla and Cloves — used in our formulations for their extraordinary aromatic and antimicrobial properties. The volcanic soil of Madagascar gives these ingredients a depth and potency that no other growing region produces. Over 80% of the world's natural Vanilla comes from Madagascar. Ours is among it.
16
Tanzania
East Africa · Zanzibar archipelago
Cloves · Vanilla
The Zanzibar archipelago off the coast of Tanzania has been one of the world's most celebrated spice-producing regions for centuries. Our Tanzanian Cloves are among the most potent in the world — their eugenol content significantly higher than varieties grown elsewhere. Zanzibar Cloves and Vanilla add botanical depth and natural antimicrobial properties to our formulations.
17
South Africa
Southern Africa · Cape region
Rose Oil · Flaxseeds · Aloe Vera
South Africa's Cape region produces Rose Oil of extraordinary quality — pressed from fresh roses harvested at dawn when their essential oil content peaks. Rich in Vitamin C and deeply nourishing. Our South African Aloe Vera complements our Congo-farmed Aloe — different growing conditions producing slightly different botanical profiles that we combine for maximum efficacy. Our Flaxseeds from South Africa are cold-pressed for their Omega-3 content essential for hair and scalp health.
18
Ethiopia
East Africa · Ethiopian highlands
Flaxseeds
Ethiopia is one of the world's oldest and most significant Flaxseed producing countries — Flax has been cultivated in the Ethiopian highlands for thousands of years. Our Ethiopian Flaxseeds are cold-pressed for their extraordinarily high Omega-3 and lignin content. Combined with our South African Flaxseeds they give us the most complete Flaxseed nutritional profile available.
